ooohhhh!!!! I would love to win! Last year when we started our school year I tried to do circle time after reading through your blog … but after a few weeks we seemed to fizzle out and only focus on schoolwork. I would love to hear more tips on making it successful and sticking to it. Thanks! Kathy

I would LOVE to win a copy!! I’ve been homeschooling for 2 years now and still learning the ins and outs! I especially want to learn about circle time because I have very small children and would like them involved around the table with us – not stuck in a play pen all day during school hours. Thanks for the opportunity!!

Hi Kendra,
I’ve been reading here for a while…can’t remember if I’ve commented or not though so I’m probably more of a lurker–lol. I’d love a chance to win this book though as I’m still struggling to put together a circle time. I think I’m more of a visual person when it comes to this though…have you ever thought of doing a video tutorial–lol.
Thanks for all the work you do on this site! It is a blessing!!
Warmly,
Elizabeth

My sis-in-law recently told me about your blog, so I’m a new visitor. We’ve got two toddlers, almost 4 and almost 2, that we are trying to raise up well. I’m always looking for tried and true ways to point my children to the Lord on a day to day basis! Thanks for helping!

Hi! I’m a lurker. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed your site and your insights have had a great impact on how we live from day to day. We are going to be attempting circle time for the first time in our school year this fall. I’m a little nervous about how it will all work out with a new baby due in the middle of when we are beginning, but that’s why I think I need circle time.
I’d love to have a copy of the book. Thank you for the chance!!!

My kids are no longer preschoolers (1st & 2nd grade), but I am still reading your blog because I love it!
August 1st, 2009 at 11:00 am
I have been stalking your blog for about 2 years, since I first started homeschooling.
August 1st, 2009 at 11:05 am
Hurray you’re back! Hope your vacation was relaxing.
(Oh, I prayed for you Sunday morning too.)
Circle time changed our homeschooling time last year. Sometimes it is an hour long sometimes we go until lunch and continue after rest time. I would love to win but there are so many who probably need it more than me I would give it to a friend who is starting her homeschooling adventure this year.
Thanks for the encouraging conversation at the convention and the chocolate.

I am a long-time reader and have gleaned so many useful tips and ideas from you! Thank you so much! Almost all the things I’ve implemented from your blog and website have been keepers: quiet time CDs, clipboards, circle time. And your MP3s have all been very helpful. Thank you so much for making all these things available!
August 1st, 2009 at 12:22 pm
I would LOVE to win a copy of Circle Time! I visit here regularly and this is my second year homeschooling. I have young children and would like to get my smaller one involved during the school hour instead of stuck in a play pen during school time. Thanks for the contest!!
August 1st, 2009 at 12:26 pm
I’m a lurker/longtime reader/once in a blue moon commenter.
Please enter me to win a copy. Can’t wait till you are back!
Kendra, have you ever addressed any posts to those who are not able to homeschool? I’ve been researching and preparing for years to homeschool but my husband is adamant against it. Therefore, I’m looking at supplementing or afterschooling. Do you have any advice for those whose heart’s desire is to homeschool but are not able to?
Thanks! Hope and your family have had a wonderful summer!

August 1st, 2009 at 7:46 pm
I think I’ve been reading you for about a year. This year will be our 7th year to homeschool (6th, 4th, K, and preschool), and I still don’t feel like I’m doing what I *want* to be doing. (Wondering if anyone ever feels like they’re doing all that they *want* to be doing!) I’ve been inspired by your blog and have been contemplating how to implement some of your tips into our day. Looking forward to reading ‘Circle Time’ …
August 1st, 2009 at 7:51 pm

Dear Kendra,
I learned of your website from the Large Family Logistics website a couple of years ago. I’ve read much of your site, as well as your blog posts, but I don’t think I’ve ever posted a comment before.
I’d love to win a copy of “Circle Time: Plan the Best Part of Your Day!”
Thanks for sharing your wisdom and experience with us!!! : )
August 2nd, 2009 at 7:09 am

We have a six year old and a two year old and are beginning our first official homeschooling year soon. I’d love a copy of Circle Time!

August 2nd, 2009 at 1:04 pm
I am here via Elizabeth Foss’s site….I would love the circle time book. I have not been able to maintain circle time in our homeschool, new ideas would be great for the littles. Thank you for your generosity.
August 2nd, 2009 at 1:16 pm
I found your website a week or two ago, and I love it! (I am not even sure how I found it) I have a Kindergartener and two preschoolers and we are sending my military husband off for a year soon.
Your website has given me lots of perspective on how to manage my day and lots to think and pray about. This first year of homeschooling will be challenging especially as I am the sole caretaker of the home, however, I know that God has called me to this task and as long as I keep my focus on Him and what He wants of me, I can do it!
Thanks for all you are sharing!
Blessings,
Kym
August 2nd, 2009 at 2:08 pm

August 2nd, 2009 at 2:28 pm
Thanks for your encouraging site. I enjoy reading from an experienced mom; gets me excited about starting our K5 daughter in homeschooling this year. I’d like to be entered in the drawing for the Circle Time rescource. Thanks.
August 2nd, 2009 at 4:40 pm
I’ve read your blog for a few years now, and this is my first comment. I guess I’m an “experienced” homeschooler and my 4 kids are long past toddlerhood, but I’m a circle time convert and would love to learn more.
August 2nd, 2009 at 5:00 pm
Hi Kendra,
I’ve been reading your blog for almost a year now but I don’t leave comments. I would love to win your e-book as I am planning to do circle time this year. I have 6 children ages 1-10 with another one due at Christmas time. Thanks for the chance to win a copy of your book and for all the advice and wisdom you share in your blog.
August 2nd, 2009 at 6:02 pm
I am an occasional lurker. I had seven children. Most of them are past preschool, but I still have a 3 year old and a K5 child. Thanks for your blog.

Long time reader and sometimes-commenter here. I’d love to win a copy!
August 2nd, 2009 at 6:50 pm
My kids LOVE circle time, but at this point it only takes about 5 minutes. I could use some help! I would love a copy of the book! I check in to your blog regularly, but my kids are just now preschool age, so I’m sure my visits will increase over the next year! Thanks for blogging and helping the rest of us out!
August 2nd, 2009 at 7:45 pm

August 3rd, 2009 at 5:28 am
I am a lurker. I have recomended your blog to many friends who have young children. this will be my first year to two kids at the same time as well as have a little one runny loose. I am going to have to go back through your site and figure out how I am going to do this.
August 3rd, 2009 at 6:50 am
I would love a chance to win your book. I’ve been checking out your “Marvelous Mondays” for the past few weeks … Awesome info! Thanks.
August 3rd, 2009 at 7:08 am
I just discovered your website about 2 weeks ago, and what a blessing it has been! Your book sounds wonderful, by the way. I have two children, and am so exited about preschooling my oldest at home this year. I am also linking to your site on our Speakable Gifts business blog. Thank you for sharing with all of us!
August 3rd, 2009 at 5:01 pm

Thanks for all you do:)
August 3rd, 2009 at 5:43 pm
I LOVE your website. I found it at a time when I was really discouraged about homeschooling with two little ones who were really distracting us. I was praying for peace and I’ve found lots of ways to help establish that on your blog.
August 3rd, 2009 at 8:20 pm
I think I’ve been reading and commenting for over a year now! Count me in! Thanks a bunch!!
August 3rd, 2009 at 10:19 pm
Kendra, I would love a copy of Circle Time. I have been reading your site for at least a year now — maybe more. Your seasoned wisdom has reminded me many of times of those things that “I used to know”. But with number 7 on the way, my memory erratically flickers out of service quite often.
August 4th, 2009 at 2:37 am
Another lurker coming out of the woodwork
. We are missionaries and have four homeschooled children. I want to do circle time, and would love to have more detailed instructions on how to make it happen.
August 4th, 2009 at 5:59 am
Hi, Kendra. I am new to your website and don’t even know what Circle Time is! (Should I be embarrassed?) I have a 3 year old and another due on Thanksgiving Day. I have never done any kind of “school” time with my son, and don’t know where to start. Is it too early? Should I just let him play? We’ve just started with recognition of capital alphabet letters during story time, and he knows 75% of them. I’ve been impressed with his curiosity and sponge-like brain, and I want to take advantage! Thanks for your inspiring and informational website! Blessings! Sarah
August 4th, 2009 at 6:00 am
I’m a lurker and a long-time circle-time wanna be! I just never seem to get it implemented around here.
August 4th, 2009 at 6:27 am
I’m a long time reader here! Always inspired – thanks Kendra!
August 4th, 2009 at 7:39 am
Sarah-
Just go about it very naturally- counting things aloud, pointing out colors and shapes, etc.
Don’t be embarrassed about Circle Time! I didn’t know what it was until I began homeschooling, either
~Kendra
August 4th, 2009 at 9:52 am
I’ve been lurking since earlier this summer. I have an elementary age child and a 2yr old so I’m curious about how to make circle time work with such varying ages. Thanks for sharing all that you do! Be Blessed!
August 4th, 2009 at 10:59 am
I have been homeschooling for 10 years now and have been reading your blog for over a year. I comment from time to time. We started circle time last school year and have been doing it sporadically through the summer as well. I would love to win. Thanks
August 4th, 2009 at 12:21 pm
I’m a long-time lurker. I’ve always loved your descriptions of circle time, but haven’t been able to implement it myself. I’d love to learn more in-depth details about putting it into action!
August 4th, 2009 at 12:22 pm
Hi Kendra,
I am mostly a lurker. I have gleaned so much from your website. When you figure out what to do with the two toddlers I hope you will share with all. I have 2 that are about 15 months apart and I am trying to decided what I am going to do with them!
August 4th, 2009 at 12:34 pm
Hi! I have been following your blog for a year or so. I thoroughly enjoy every post! I would really enoy the circle time book. Thanks!
August 4th, 2009 at 1:22 pm
I’m a long-time reader… in fact, your blog is one of the reasons I stuck with homeschooling when my littles (then one and two-and-a-half) were ALL OVER THE PLACE. So thanks for four years of encouragement.
August 4th, 2009 at 4:32 pm
I am a long-time reader and a lurker, I guess, ’cause I don’t comment much, but I read in my feed reader. I love your insights on young ones!
August 4th, 2009 at 4:36 pm

Thanks,
Amy

I’ve been checking your site periodically for several months now – I found you through Heather Davis’ blog. I incorporated Circle Time after reading about it here, and even my husband has commented on what a great idea it is! I would love to win a copy of Circle Time to give me more ideas on how to make a good thing even better.

August 6th, 2009 at 5:40 am
Hi Kendra – I started visiting your website years ago when my twins were toddlers and I had a preschooler. I recently came back to it as I now have 3 new preschoolers! I would love the chance to win your new book.
August 6th, 2009 at 5:42 am
A friend just told me about your site. I am trying to formulate a circle time. Your book would be a great resource. Especially if it’s free!!
August 6th, 2009 at 10:36 am
I have your blog in my google reader and have been reading for a few months. This is the first time I have made a comment. My daughter will be 3 in December and this fall will be the perfect time to start a circle time. I would love a copy of the book to get me started

August 7th, 2009 at 5:00 am
Hi Kendra! I’m a future circle-timer with a 2 year old and a 2nd baby on the way. We’ve employed so much of your advice on babies, toddlers, and preschoolers in our home. And we can’t wait to begin more formal homeschooling in the near future. Thanks!
August 7th, 2009 at 12:51 pm
I just was directed to your site today! We have a 1 year old and I guess I am a jumping the gun a bit, but would like to be informed about our choices…
August 7th, 2009 at 1:24 pm
me, me, me oh please, me!! This is my comparable version of “watch me, mommy, watch me!!” I’m sure you can picture it. We’ve “talked” before about finding joy in parenting. That would be me. My oldest will be starting hs kindergarten hopefully after the new baby is born in Feb (can you tell my husband is finally home!!
would love a copy of some tricks & tips of the trade! Thanks for being you!
August 8th, 2009 at 9:01 am
I’ve been reading your site for a little over a year, and I don’t think I’ve ever commented. I’ve really enjoyed your content and encouragement. My kids are 6, almost 5, and 2.5. We’ve done circle time on and off for a couple years. I consider myself a home preschool mom – my oldest is now in a wonderful charter school. We’ve opted not to send my almost-5-year-old to kindergarten yet, so I’ll be doing a slightly more formal program with her this year. We have devotional time with all the girls before the oldest goes to school in the morning, and then I plan to do a more school-focused circle time with the younger two later in the morning.
Thanks! I’d love to win your book!
August 8th, 2009 at 2:35 pm
Still learning, still in process! Godly wisdom is prized. . .thanks for all yours over the years.
August 8th, 2009 at 3:42 pm
I’ve been reading for maybe a couple of years and have enjoyed it. Lots of great tips and perspective. I would love to win the book.
August 8th, 2009 at 3:43 pm
Oh yes, I’m homeschooling a 7 year-old girl (2nd grade), 5 year-old boy (K), a 3 year-old boy and am expecting baby #4 in early October!
August 8th, 2009 at 9:42 pm
I would absolutely LOVE to have a copy of Circle Time: Plan the Best Part of Your Day. I have read your blog for quite a while and have gleaned much, much encouragement and wisdom. I am heading into my third year of homeschooling and I have an 8 year old, 6 year old, and 4 year old. We do a “circle time” together, and I could really use some ideas and tips! Thanks so much for your generosity!
August 8th, 2009 at 10:13 pm
I’m a faithful reader and love, love, love your transparency!

I have been checking out your site for a while. I have a link to it on my blog, and come here often for encouragement.
My children are aged 8.5, 6, 4 & 3 (boy, girl, girl, boy), and I often look for ideas for my younger ones while I work on something for the older ones.
And I also like to read what’s going on in your family (smile!), and it always encourages me!
I would love to win a copy of Circle Time!
August 9th, 2009 at 2:22 pm
I’m a long time reader and will have 5 grades to teach with a baby and a toddler. I would love to read Circle Time and learn all about it. Any way to help our organized chaos would be a blessing.

I found your blog last fall, and have thoroughly enjoyed it! I’m definitely enjoying the thoughts about circle time. We did it regularly last year (very very low-key, my kids are now 3 & 4), but haven’t ONCE all summer, and much like exercise, i know once i get it planned out & start doing it, it’ll be great, but getting back into the habit…..not so easy!

I’d love to win a copy of Circle Time. I’ve been lurking for a while and love your blog.

Hello!
I have been following Preschoolers and Peace for about 2 years now. During the school year I have 5 in my house ages 1-9 and I also take care of my neice who is 3. I am very interested in learning about Circle Time and Classical Education as well. You have been at this a lot longer than me and seem to have some great results. I am very interested in learning what has worked for you!
Thank you for what you contribute to godly families and homeschooling.

August 11th, 2009 at 10:52 am
I am a lurker. I have really enjoyed your blog and insights. I have 3 kids – ages 6, 4, and 1. We have not done anything like a circle time in the past but think it would be something we would all enjoy. I really loved your different posts on curriculum. We are branching out and trying some new material this year.
August 11th, 2009 at 2:06 pm
I’m a serial lurker and last year was my first year homeschooling (but I myself was homeschooled!) and I muddled my way through and am looking forward to a better year this year (4 kids 9, 7, 4, 1) Love your blog!
August 12th, 2009 at 3:40 am
I just found you. I am thrilled. I am intrigued. I am going to be lating getting breakfast because I can’t stop reading.
August 12th, 2009 at 6:25 am
Total lurker who has learned so much from you!
August 12th, 2009 at 6:52 am
I think I have de-lurked before
But I just wanted to say that I love the name of your blog. Preschoolers and peace…is that even possible? And yet you have shown me it is
My favorite quote of yours: “Peace with preschoolers does not equal a quiet house…” Thank you for making me throw my unrealistic expectations out the window and helping me to enjoy this time in my children’s life more!
Oh, and I would love to see what Circle Time is all about!
Blessings!
August 12th, 2009 at 10:51 am
Hi, I’ve been around for a while, and commeted a few times. But I’m generally quiet. I would love to win a copy of this book. I am looking into implementing Circle Time for the first time this year.
I love your site!
August 12th, 2009 at 1:22 pm
WOW! I am so blessed to have found this site. Found it through His Mercy Is New blog (which I love). We would love to revamp our circle time and winning this book would definitely help.
Thanks for the opportunity.
Blessings

I have been twice directed to your site from completely different avenues, from copperswife.xanga.com and once from aholyexperience.com. Funny how vast and small the world at the same time. I have a 2 year old boy and a 3 month old girl. We are just beginning the world of the preschooler.
August 13th, 2009 at 6:14 pm
Hi, I am a new visitor and have two preschoolers (3 and 1). I would love to hear your ideas on circle time!
August 13th, 2009 at 7:04 pm
I ussed to come to your website years ago. Now I have come back again just recently. I really like the idea of circle time!
August 14th, 2009 at 5:04 am
Kendra,
I’ve been reading your blog for quite awhile. Thank you! I’d love to win a copy of your book!
August 14th, 2009 at 9:52 am
I would love to be entered. I am a long-time reader that does not comment often. I have 3 preschoolers right now (we are foster parents, so I often have 4 preschoolers), and I’m starting K in the fall with my oldest. I would love to read more about circle time.
August 14th, 2009 at 12:42 pm
I’ve been reading off and on for awhile now (found you thru my sister’s-husband’s -uncle’s family who are good friends of yours
)
Would love to read more about Circle Time, I have 3 little ones and want to get more organized on some intentional time with them this year!

I have been a reader for a year and a half or so now. I have gained so much insight and encouragement from your posts and honesty in dealing with everything from meals to school work to Mighty Joe’s time in the PICU. I have implemented a version of Circle Time in our home almost since I started reading and it has served as such a blessing. We use it to memorize Scripture and learn catechism. I would love to win a copy of Circle Time to give me more ideas and help make this an absolute non-negotiable part of our day.
August 15th, 2009 at 11:45 am
Another lurker/long time reader here. I too have loved the idea of circle time, but have had difficulty making it appealing/worthwhile for our various ages (3-14). I’d love to have your book!
August 15th, 2009 at 8:32 pm
I have been lurking for a year or so and just want to say thank you for all the great info and advice you have so freely given!
August 16th, 2009 at 7:48 pm
I came across your blog when Mighty Joe was in the hospital. I haven’t commented before, but I do want you to know that your blog has been a big encouragement to me. I also am 39 and have 8 children, ages 14-8 months. Your schooling style sounds very similar to ours. Some days I wonder if I am crazy to try to juggle all I do in homeschooling so many children. But then I read your blog and realize I am not alone in the challenges I deal with, and I am encouraged to keep moving forward. Right now I am desperately trying to get all my printing done for the school year. I had wondered if it was a good idea to try to do it all ahead (tired of the Sunday night rush). Then I read that you do it for just as many children as I have, so I am attempting it! Thanks for your blog. I’m off to do more printing…
August 17th, 2009 at 5:46 am
HI! I just found your blog while researching more about Circle Time. I’d love to start using it with my daughter!
August 17th, 2009 at 10:19 am
I would love, love, love this book!
my girls are 6, 3, and 1 and we are just starting our homeschool journey.
August 17th, 2009 at 11:07 am
I’m a brand-new reader just starting to research homeschooling my toddler. Thanks to your website, I already feel more informed about where to begin.
Circle Time would be a great resource for me!

I just found your site for the first time. Love it.

With a two year old and an eight month old and plans to homeschool our children, I am a lurker (I will admit it!!
who wants to soak in all I can to prepare for what seems at times to be a very overwhelming task ahead…
I’m thankful for/encouraged/challenged by your site, which I’m sure many are benefiting from.
Right now, I am clinging to Philippians 4:13 because seriously, I need to be reminded that Christ can and will enable me to be the wife and mother He wants me to be, by His strength… and the same will hold true even when I begin homeschooling, Lord willing.
Thanks again for sharing your life and wisdom with us.
August 17th, 2009 at 9:33 pm
oh! I forgot to mention that I’d really like to win a copy of your Circle Time book!
August 17th, 2009 at 9:43 pm
I found your blog tonight….thru Stacy R’s blog, which has blessed me much! I’ve been homeschooling my 9 and 7 yr. olds from preschooler age…and this year I have twin 1 yr. old boys so I need to be a better planner and totally avoid the sunday night marathons…UGH. I CAN’T WAIT to have time to read about all of your preschooling and planning resources! I’ve often thought about doing a HUGE planning weekend and getting all this hammered out….but until reading your post about it I never thought it was actually possible. In fact, I’m thinking about calling my friend Carolynn and making a date NOW! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for sharing all of this! Blessings to you and all 8 of your olive plants!
August 17th, 2009 at 9:53 pm
Wow, Jess. Thanks
Let us know how it goes for you!
August 18th, 2009 at 6:05 am
Would LOVE to win a copy…have been lurking and will likely continue to hover just below the surface… but I am here…hi.
August 18th, 2009 at 6:58 am
I have been reading for a long time and use lots of your ideas. I’d like to learn more about Circle Time.
August 18th, 2009 at 10:09 am
Thanks for sharing your insights through the years, Kendra. It’s been great to glean from what the Lord is teaching you.
Hoping to win the book
August 18th, 2009 at 11:10 am
I found your website sometime after Mighty Joe’s mighty hospital adventure. . . can’t remember now how I found you. I’ve been enjoying your attitude and perspective towards your children and home schooling and the stay at home life style. I have seen you mention circle time a few times, but I wasn’t sure what you were talking about. It sounds like a good idea (we have a 2nd grader, pre-k, and toddler, plus a new one due in March.) So maybe I need this book more than I think! Thanks for doing this give away.
August 18th, 2009 at 5:51 pm
I visit your site off and on. I would love to read the book! Keep up the good work.
August 19th, 2009 at 11:51 am
Just found your blog, and I’m looking forward to starting a more formal approach to at-home learning!
August 20th, 2009 at 8:58 am
I’ve been reading for about a year and a half; I love it. I’ve commented once or twice, but mostly I sit back and “listen”. I love the ideas and envy the ability to think in an organized fashion! But luckily for me, if I can’t come up with it I can always copy it!
August 20th, 2009 at 10:07 am
I’m a lurker. A friend of Clarissa & Megan, who keep me updated on what’s new here. I LOVE everything I read here and it is so my life. We have 7 so far, only 2 preschoolers right now, and our schooling plan morphs nearly daily. Circle time is a wonderful thing–we do variations of it at breakfast and lunch and dinner. But wouldn’t I love a copy of this!!! Praise the Lord for His ministry to me through you.
August 20th, 2009 at 5:23 pm
Hi. I have been encouraged by Preschoolers and Peace for several years now but this may only be my 2nd or 3rd post. Circle Time is definitely one of my favorite parts of our day. I think I may call it that because of first reading about it on your website. Right now our circle time is Bible memory, singing a hymn, prayer, and any other memory work with my 7 year old and 5 year old daughters. Our almost 2 year old daughter is just beginning to learn to listen in with us while on her blanket with some books and quiet toys. Thank you so much for all that you share to encourage and challenge and point us to the Lord.
August 21st, 2009 at 7:52 am
I am a new comer to your site. I would love to engage my 3-year-old into our learning day but the only thing that seems to keep his attention is a video, albeit an educational one, I would LOVE more interaction with him. I know he is listening because he occasionally shares a little of what he has caught during the day. All suggestions are welcome and I am glad to find your site.
August 21st, 2009 at 12:23 pm
I’m a new reader, looking for inspiration for my youngest, a 2 year-old firecracker! I’d love a copy of the book to help me get started! Thanks!
August 23rd, 2009 at 2:08 pm
I’m a long time lurker and read your post’s thru google reader : )
August 23rd, 2009 at 5:29 pm
I have a 2 and half & 1 and half year old and I am going to home school them- I am trying already to teach songs, verses, catechism etc- but would like some more ideas. I taught in public school for 6 years and need to unlearn some of the habits that helped me cope with a classroom full of unmotivated students and a heavy load of curriculum to teach. I have appreciated your website and am anticipating a bright and exciting change as I teach my own 2 children-full of trials too, I’m sure!
August 23rd, 2009 at 8:29 pm
Brand new reader. Looking and learning more about hsing as my little girls are growing fast (almost 2.5 and 4 months).
August 24th, 2009 at 7:01 am
I’ve been reading for several years now, though I don’t often comment. I’m so thankful for all you do for us…such great challenges and encouragement from a wise and experienced mom! Thanks so much, Kendra. I pray God’s richest blessings on you as you start the new year. We’re starting today, with a 1st and 2nd grader. Baby will keep our days interesting for the first time this year, and I hope to be much more organized. Implementing a GOOD circle time is one goal of mine for 09-10. I’m hoping that will enable us to learn much more Scripture than we’ve done in the past few years.
August 24th, 2009 at 11:44 am
Yep, I must enter my name on behalf of my friend. I bought the book and love it! She must have it:)
August 24th, 2009 at 4:57 pm
First time reading to your blog. A few moms and I just started a preschool co-op for our 4yo girls. Its going great and, of course, has me exploring homeschooling for K and beyond. I’m liking your ideas! Thanks for sharing.

I’ve been reading your blog off and on for a little while and have gotten some great ideas. Thanks so much for offering the free book!
August 25th, 2009 at 5:02 pm
I’ve been a regular reader for awhile, although I don’t think I’ve ever commented. And I’ve been absent for awhile (life with a newborn), so I didn’t know your site had changed! But I’m gearing up for my first year of homeschooling my daughter, so this certainly sounds like a great resource!
August 25th, 2009 at 10:14 pm
Hi Kendra! I came on here looking for circle time ideas…and whaddya know? A chance to win your book! Thanks for putting up this site. It is a blessing to so many!

I just found your blog and love the ideas that
you have. I would like to know more about circle
time. Thank you
August 26th, 2009 at 1:57 pm
I’m a long-time reader. I would love a copy of this – and listen to this threat: if I can’t win a copy, I’m going to buy it. Humph.
We have 6, the oldest is 7, and our second set of twins is due in Feb.
Gulp.
August 26th, 2009 at 2:03 pm
[...] I took to it though I took the time to slowly implement it. Currently Kendra is running a post that’s all about circle time and if you leave a comment, you just might win a copy of her [...]

I am new to homeschooling and read your site regularly to get ideas and encouragement. I have 3 kids and just started homeschooling my kindergartner. I started doing circle time as soon as I read about it on your site but am still feeling unsure of what I am doing and would love more details and insight. Thank you for all you do to encourage homeschoolers and mommies (:

Hi Kendra,
I am a long time reader (is like 3 years a long time?). I have found lots of inspiration to help with survival around these parts and LOVE LOVE LOVE your circle time ideas!
August 27th, 2009 at 10:15 pm
My, what a lot of responses! Looks like circle time is popular. : ) I’ve been reading your blog since Mighty Joe was born (a friend who reads your blog regularly told me to pray for him, and to come over to your blog to see why! Been coming by ever since!) So glad to read the awesome news- PRAISE GOD!! – about his eyesight!!! Blessings on your family. : )
August 28th, 2009 at 5:07 pm
I’ve lurked here off and on, and I am starting HS for my 2 year-old this fall. I’m nervous and excited and would love to win the book to help me get started on this new adventure!
August 30th, 2009 at 12:14 pm
I’m a long time reader who has just re-stumbled on your blog as I sat down to plan my week and thought I need to visit Kendra’s blog to get those circle time ideas.
I lost all my bookmarks one time and needed to “re-find” you!

I almost missed the cut-off. I have been reading your blog on and off for at least the past few years. At the very least it’s been 2 years.
I would love to win the e-book. I actually want to implement circle time in our home so I was just going to wing it. As much as I would love to have your full perspective, our finances just can’t handle the purchase of the book right now. We’re cutting cost in everything we can to give my dh a bit more time in his self-employment (before we lose him again to the corporate world. We are praying that doesn’t happen.)
I just love this blog. It’s so encouraging to read and get ideas for how to occupy my younger set while my older set gets the education they need. We have 6 children so far – almost 10 mod to 10 yrs. This site an been invaluable to me.

Your blog was just recently recommended to me as I am a stay at home mom of 3- 61/2 yrs, 4yrs. and my youngest is 20months. I am always looking for wisedom and different ideas as how to do my day. Thanks for your stories! Hope to read more about circle time and thanks for the chance to win the book.

Hi Kendra! I’ve read you for years although not always consistently. I came back specifically to look into your “circle time” ideas. We’re trying more of a multi-level approach to homeschooling this year. Its our 4th year homeschooling our 6 children, aged 11,9,8,4,3,1. I would love a copy of your book! God bless you, your family, and this ministry….

This is my first time stumbling onto your site (definitely a God send for this time of my life). I would be delighted if you would enter me into your draw for the circle time ebook. Regardless, I have won already by all the great ideas found here on your blog.
Thank you!

Thanks, Kendra, for inviting so many of us to look through your family’s window. You are truly a blessing to all who cross this path! I’ve been checking in at your sight for a number of months now and am always encouraged by your thoughts and experience. As I work to begin our days with a more meaningful circle time I’d love nothing more than to glean once again from the pages of your book.
Blessings to you and your family, and all praise be to God for Little Joe’s perfect vision. He certainly has a Great Physician!

I would love to win this book. I have been reading for awhile, but am still really intimidated (lazy??) about starting circle time with my little ones…

I used to read several years ago, and thought of Preschoolers and Peace tonight in my desperation—I’ll be soaking up the archives for the next few days. I would love to win a copy of the book; thanks for the giveaway.

Are you familiar with Slow and Steady Get e Ready: A Parents’ Handbook by June R. Oberlander? I found it as a resource from The Well Trained Mind or something like that…
Would like to hear your thoughts on it…
Thanks,
Krissy

Krissy-
I haven’t read that one. Can anyone else comment?

I LOVED Slow and Steady! It has activities for every week for your child’s first five years. I wish I had had it when my first child was a newborn, because I think it would have been great at that time.
Still, I started it when my firstborn was 3 and my secondborn was 1. I just picked up from there and went on. The boys liked the activities (games) and they learned a lot. Great memories!
I think it would be a great baby shower gift too, especially for a first time mom.

I was wondering if anyone does “circle time” when they just have one toddler? How does it work with one two year old? How do you prep for the others to come? I have the slow and steady get me ready and I was a music therapy major/worship gal so we do lots of fun songs… is that a good way to go?
