Organization and the Homeschool

a workshop by Kendra Fletcher
Here’s one for all of you who are feeling the frustration of juggling so many proverbial balls while trying to keep your sanity. Homeschooling, housekeeping, cooking, laundry, driving, shopping, yard work, babies… how does a mom with all these things (and more!) on her plate accomplish what God has given her to do without reaching the end of her rope by the time Christmas break comes around?
Much of what I love to share with other moms walking this path is included in this workshop on organization. My hope is that you’ll come away with new strategies, new ideas, and fresh encouragement!

Love the binder ideas! I need loads of help in the organization department. Do you have a special room dedicated to school stuff or do you just have all your stuff in the kitchen or family room? I am trying to decide whether or not to make a school room.

I have no mp3. Is this the only way to get it? Maybe my brilliant husband can help me when he is home.

Stephanie-
I’m not savvy as to all the computers out there, but my understanding is most (all?) updated computers will play MP3.

I implemented the clipboard idea after you first wrote about it and I’m loving it! I have a clipboard for daily lists, a clipboard for my calendars, a clipboard for school checklists — anything I need to grab and see, because sometimes opening and flipping through a binder is too cumbersome. My sister even painted mine for me: http://www.pelennorfields.com/mystie/2009/visually-pleasing/. Acrylic paint and a coat of mod podge.
I can keep my grocery list on a clipboard, and it stays propped up in the cart or it’s easy to grab from my bag. I’m a clipboard junkie now.
They even make half-sheet sized clipboards!
I save my binders for less-frequently-used reference or for “filing” things.
Thanks for taking the time to share your ideas, Kendra!
