Welcome to Preschoolers and Peace, a site I started after giving a little workshop on how to homeschool older kids with younger kids underfoot. This is the only way I've ever homeschooled, and so I've learned a lot of neat tricks along the way.

My husband is a funny, happy, interesting guy who makes his living as a dentist and drives a VW bus. We've been married for 20 years and have 8 children. We didn't set out to have 8, but we are so glad we had each one! Life here is never boring.

Our oldest is an 18-year-old college sophomore studying film and working on a media project that is setting out to chronicle the glory of God in the every day. Our youngest is a 3-year-old who fought a deadly illness when he was two months old and is a walking testimony of God's grace and mercy. In between we have a 16-year-old lifeguard studying classical guitar, a 14-year-old golfer/water polo player/artist, a 12-year-old firstborn daughter with a huge heart for others, a 10-year-old singer/budding gardener, an 8-year-old blondie whose most recent accomplishments include the loss of 6 teeth, and a 4-year-old vehicle expert (particularly trains).

Once upon a time I had a degree in music and was pursuing a Master's Degree, but the Master Himself called me to something far greater, right here in my home. These days in and amongst the busyness of a household of 10, I am finding my identity, acceptance, purpose, value, significance, and security in God through Jesus alone by grace through faith in Him.
