Awesome Elementary School Physical Education Activities

By Kendra | October 1, 2008

My friend Dana (say: “Danna”) is a wealth of resources.  I love her kiddos, her approach to school, her joyful take on life as a homeschooling mom of four.  Before life as a home educator, Dana was a P.E. teacher.  Me?  Ummm, no.

This summer Dana introduced me to a fabulous resource that has helped me get my kiddos up and moving, stretching, tossing, kicking, running, racing, and enjoying the physical activities demonstrated in Awesome Elementary School Physical Education Activites. There are easy-to-follow little stick figure guys on each page that allow me to put an activity together at the drop of a hat- no prior preparation necessary!

If you’re interested, contact Dana through her blog.  The book is crazy expensive on Amazon, but she knows where to get it for you for a good price.

I am so interested in this book! I’m wondering if it has a lot of activities that can be done indoors since we live in a climate with lots of rain.

I am a retired elementary physical education teacher. I have a number of resource books that I want to get rid of for a very reasonable price plus shipping. One of the books is “Awesome Elementary School Physical Education Activities” by Cliff Carnes. It is unmarked except for my name inside the front cover. I will watch this site and see if anybody is interested.

Hello Melanie. My e-mail address is sandyandresen@sbcglobal.net You can contact me and we can work out the cost of “Awesome Elementary School Physical Education” by Cliff Carnes. For all others, I have additional books that I want to sell. Here are a few of the titles: “Fitness for Children” by Curt Hinson; “Elementary Teacher’s Handbook of Indoor and Outdoor Games” by Art Kamiya; “Physical Education Funbook for Grades K-8″ by Joella Mehrhof; “More Fitness Exercises for Children” by Jim Stillwell; “Games Kids Should Play at Recess” by Curt Hinson. I also have a Teambuilder. This is a piece of equipment where four people work together to move a bottle, bowling pin or some object from point A to point B. It does take teamwork and would be a great piece of equipment for home schoolers.
