Back in the ER
By Kendra | January 15, 2010
That’s right. Let’s review:
June 2008- Mighty Joe and the enterovirus
January 2009- Five-year-old and a fractured pelvis (tell your kids this when they don’t remain seated until the car comes to a complete stop)
January 2010- Eight-year-old and a ruptured appendix which has gone septic
————
So, a morning in the ER, a day in ICU, and hopefully to the pediatric wing tomorrow for the remainder of the week. Or more.
Mighty Joe’s PICU doctor was one of ten kids himself and he told me, “Kendra, the more kids you have, the more illnesses and injuries”. I believe him.

Oh, Kendra I’m so sorry! I pray that your 8-year old is better soon!

Praying for the little gal!! I know what you mean about illnesses. We’ve had a few, too…life threatening ones included. I am so thankful for a loving God who helps us through these difficult times! And thankful for supportive family and friends and for people who pray! We’ll keep on praying until she’s home!

What a way to start the year! I will be praying for you all, and that January of 2011 (should the Lord tarry) will not be the same…

You know, 3 in 3 years isn’t that many. . .
But I do pray that your child will be back to health VERY soon! A week in the hospital can’t be very fun for an 8 year old.
BTW, I’m sure others have mentioned this, but it might be a good time to pull out the Madeline book. It’s one of my children’s favorites.

Kendra,
We’re praying here for you all as well! May you continue to be aware of God’s faithfulness to you and your family in the midst of these troubles and experience His comfort overwhelmingly.
2 Corinthians 1:3-5 – “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.”

Purple Moose- It’s just a year and a half! But it feels like a week…
Yes to Madeline! Dontcha love it? I told her she could show her sisters her scar
Thanks everyone for praying. She’s on the road to recovery. Oh, and she’s the one holding the cupcake on the Finding Quiet Time MP3 picture over there on the right.

Love you Kendra. We just got out of the hospital ourselves for little Ava. Not fun! I am so glad she is feeling better:)
BTW, even though I want many kids, I am SOO not looking forward to this part of parenting:) I pray I can do it as gracefully as you do.
