We had a special daughter, too, a couple of years ago. She only lived four weeks (longer than expected for a trisomy 13 baby). I remember how wonderful the whole experience was. (Of course, it was difficult, too.) I still thank God for the gift of that little one, and for all of the surprising changes she sparked in the lives of others -- my uncle started seeking after God, my husband started painting, some friends changed their minds about the value of babies "destined to die." God doesn't make mistakes. My daughter's story can be read at www.livingwithtrisomy13.org/memoriesofeffie.htm. There are a lot of scripture verses included (the ones that I read at Effie's graveside service), and these might be comforting for Nate and Debra right now.

Such sadness and nobility all at once. There was a young family here that went through the same thing last Fall. This is where faith in God's sovereignty is bittersweetly demonstrated. May that same God grant them incredible peace and deep joy in Him.

May the God of all comfort bring His peace and comfort to this family, and may He be glorified in the sweet, but brief life of this most precious child.

God bless this sweet little family. I appreciate so much the testimony of such faithfulness to trust in God and pass that faith and understanding on to others. Praying for the Perkins!

It was lovely meeting Debra on your back porch. If you talk to her let her know that I will be praying for her and her family as they walk this path.
The picture above is precious in so many ways.

I will pray... I'm so sorry for their loss. I am learning how God draws us near through suffering. Grace and peace.
